# Frontline Changes Report - Ukraine War Hello everyone, this is Defense Politics Asia, and this is the **Frontline Changes Report** for the past 24 hours in the Ukraine war, also known as the special military operation in Ukraine, for the day of **1,111** for the **28th of February**. This also means that I have been reporting on this crazy war for **1,111 days**. What have I been doing with my life? Anyway, there are not a lot of frontline changes over the past 24 hours. This is the only one that appeared; I think Deep State UA has not shown it on their map. They did include it in their mapping, but it was reported yesterday already, as I discovered it before they reported it. ### Frontline Changes First, we have a **location of Russian forces** basically entering into **Skoch**. This confirms the Russian presence in **Skoch**, and this means that the **Battle of Skoch** has begun. However, before it even began, the Russian mapping has already marked it as taken. This is how the pro-Russian sources mapped it; they have indicated that the entirety of **Skoch** has fallen to the Russians, which is something I predicted because it is just undefendable if the Russians are already here. It is not possible to defend **Skoch** at all. Tentatively, this is the claim that the Russians have taken **Skoch**. The distance traveled could be potentially around **1 km**. On the other side, at **Bulas**, the Russian forces, according to their mapping, have also taken **Bulas**. In fact, I forgot to draw in the **Loud Haer** icon, so Russian forces have basically secured and taken the entirety of **Bulas** according to the Russian mapping. However, **RIBA** did say that this is a Russian source, and they claim that **Priv** is not captured, despite some sources or rather some Telegram channels saying that it has been captured. They dispute this tentatively because I don't follow much of other sources; throughout the war, I realized who can be trusted. So, I need to put this in first before I forget: **Russia claims capture of Bas**. This is the two frontline changes for the **28th of February**. ### Summary of Frontline Changes - **Skoch**: Claimed captured by Russian forces. - **Bulas**: Claimed captured by Russian forces. - **Priv**: Disputed capture status. Both settlements have been claimed to be captured by the Russian forces. I think I need to withdraw here first, so this is the frontline changes in this region. Russian forces captured **Skoch** and **Bulas**. This is not particularly special per se; I'm just surprised there's no other frontline changes over the past 24 hours. ### Political Context I think maybe I'm not sure because maybe **Zelensky** visited **Trump** in the White House today. If you follow the Ukraine war, you probably saw that show of a press conference at the White House, and it went as badly as it possibly could. It could have been even worse if Trump had decided to not make a deal at all. I would probably do a separate video covering this when I'm more free, but I just want to share some early thoughts about the situation. The total area captured is now **4.58 square km**, which is half of the **10** that we usually see, but it is still pretty significant. This is only just one front; all the other frontline changes were not reported. There are two lines of thought regarding the entire show at the White House between **Zelensky** and **Donald Trump**. On one side, the pro-Ukrainian and probably anti-Trump side feel that Trump is continuing his usual very disrespectful way of dealing with world leaders. Of course, that is also at the same time ignoring the level of honor and respect he has given to some of the other leaders like **Modi**. It is important to note that the United States has been this pretentious country for a long time. Almost every administration has been very pretentious and hypocritical; they never say in the open what exactly they think. They basically say nice things and then stab you in the back. That's what the United States has always been. This is also why it is always a danger to be an ally to the United States; to be a friend of the United States is pretty fatal in most cases, except for **Israel**. For Donald Trump's case, this is the first time in a long time, probably since his previous term from **2016 to 2020**, that the United States is really blunt. I think this term is way more empowered because of the mandate he has gotten through the election and, of course, with the strong cabinet he formed himself. Previously, his cabinets and all these leaders were selected by the GOP, the Republican Party. This time around, he basically picked them himself for the most part, which is why he is way more empowered and confident in his actions. ### Conclusion In conclusion, whatever he said during this press conference with **Zelensky** is true: Ukraine does not have cards to deal with the United States. The only card that **Zelensky** has in this deal to negotiate with the United States is that they have minerals that the Americans want. Also, the Americans have already sunk a lot of money into Ukraine; that's probably the only other leverage **Zelensky** has on the United States side. If you really look at it objectively, there is zero national interest for the United States in whatever happens in Ukraine. You have to remember that just **20-30 years ago**, during the Cold War, the USSR was a much bigger threat than Russia is today, and NATO was a smaller alliance than it is now. So, why would a bigger NATO be afraid of a smaller Russia today, compared to during the height of the Cold War when NATO could deal with a much bigger USSR? This is just my quick reaction and first thoughts regarding this show of press conference. Thank you for watching. Press the like button, subscribe, and I'll see you guys in the next update.
